Easter Lutheran Church

A remodeled library provides better space for Easter's hospitality, fellowship, and learning. The goals were to create a comfortable and relaxed gathering place in a visible location; improve aesthetics and update space that was originally designed in 1975; provide hospitality with "coffee shop" beverages and feel; develop a faith-focused media center; develop a space from which current resources can be purchased.
Opening up the existing space with better connections, focus, more windows, a welcoming entrance, refreshment kiosk, bookshelves, displays, art, meeting room for study and book stacks, sound, WiFi, fireplace, warm colors, better lighting, accessible toilets, and outdoor patio all revitalize the church and create an inviting space for people to sit and talk before or after an event or while browsing new media.
At the Dedication of the project, Rolf was given a steel rule with the following words engraved, "To the Glory of God and in Appreciation of Rolf Lokensgard, Fireside Commons, Easter Lutheran Church, January 13, 2008"
Unless the Lord builds the house, Those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.
By wisdom a house is built, And by understanding it is established.
